The Spring/Summer 19 edition of The Exchange Magazine will be out soon and free to pick up in the centre. It’ll also available to read in the extended, fully interactive digital edition, which can be accessed from the Magazine page of the website.
2019 is a very special year for The Exchange, as it was in 1929 that the centre was officially opened. It was Nottingham’s first purpose-built shopping arcade, and 90 years on The Exchange remains an iconic symbol of the city’s retail heritage.
Throughout that time, the centre has evolved to adapt to the ever-changing demands of modern retailing, and inside this edition, we look back over the last 90 years of The Exchange, from its opening to the present day.
The Exchange Magazine celebrated its own anniversary last autumn, marking 10 years since the first edition was published. It’s covered all the seasonal trends over that time, reflected through a myriad of products from the arcade’s stores. This issue is certainly no exception, as we highlight the latest SS19 looks for him and her in our style pages, along with this summer’s best beauty products, fashion accessories and inspiring gift ideas.
Now a regular fixture with the magazine, Nottingham stylist and designer, Susi Henson, once again casts her eye over the season’s hottest looks in this issue’s Trend Settings, while our photoshoot showcases the key styles from the centre’s stores for Spring/Summer 19 – head to the centre pages to meet Prints Charming.
Chris Goodrum, from Gauntleys – The Exchange’s resident dram-busting vintner, offers another inciteful look into things-liquid, as he considers the scourge of fakery in the world of rare whisky. Read the article to decide for yourself whether this is, as a certain D. Trump might put it, just more Fake News…
