Radley London has found an exciting new doubles partner in professional tennis player Johanna Konta. The British Number 1 has joined the brand to become the second ambassador of the Radley Spirit campaign. Inspired by women who live life on their own terms, with the passion and drive to make things happen, Johanna is a perfect match. With her undeniable talent, Johanna is an athlete who truly personifies these values.
As part of her ambassadorship, Radley unveils the Johanna Konta Edit, a handpicked, curated selection of Johanna’s favourite pieces from the SS19 collection. Notably, the edit launches with the Johanna Konta Tote in Ink – an athleisure bag with a spacious interior made from navy nylon fabric – the perfect grab and go accessory, whether you’re heading to centre court, the gym or out for lunch.
A unique mix of practicality and style; the edit also introduces a variety of Radley London styles to suit any occasion including the modern Arlington court Backpack in Dove Grey, perfect for the city commuter, the Selby Street Punch Medium Flapover Crossbody in Chalk and the Haven Street Medium Flapover Crossbody, for those inspired by the patchwork trend that flooded the SS19 catwalks.
As summer begins to make its mark, the new Alba Place Camera Crossbody available in cobalt blue, flame orange and dove grey is the perfect pop of colour for the season.
Meanwhile, a second product drop in August, will showcase a twist on some Radley London classics with the sophisticated Liverpool Street Zip Top reimagined in a rich, emerald green faux crocodile leather and the Florence Terrace Large Open Top Tote crafted in a sumptuous chestnut brown.
Three evening styles complete the edit. Launching in September, the embellished Selby Street Star Bust and the playful Alma Drawstring Mini Bucket Bag are the ideal companions for a night out on the town. Meanwhile, the best-selling circular style, Papermill Road will be available in three, elegant new colourways including merlot, oxblood and black.
Julia Darlington, Chief Brand Officer at Radley London expands on the partnership,
“We are so excited to be welcoming Johanna Konta into the
Radley fold, as part of our ‘Spirit’ campaign. When we first met Johanna, we
knew she epitomised everything the brand stands for – celebrating women who live life on their own terms who are independent, bold, accomplished, and fun. In the field of tennis, Johanna has undeniably changed the game. Not only did she receive the British number 1 title in her semi-final run in Wimbledon in 2017, her quarter final win became the most viewed match in the UK in history! And her impressive performance over the last few months shows no sign of slowing down.
As a representative in the players’ council with the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA), Johanna has also been one of the most vocal female players, championing the need for equality and fair treatment within the
game. Naturally we’re thrilled to be working with Johanna as she gears up for Wimbledon. As a brand, Radley has always been committed to celebrating London, and, Wimbledon is of course one of the capital’s most
iconic sporting events. We can’t wait to see Johanna showcase both her skills
and style on the court.”
Johanna Konta echoed, “I am so excited to be working with Radley London. I have been a fan of the brand for many years and love the ethos of the ‘Radley Spirit’ campaign. Celebrating women, their individuality and accomplishments is something I am passionate about. In fact, last year I spoke at the Oxford Union about women’s rights and equal pay, especially within sports, so I am delighted that the Radley Spirit campaign enables me to continue championing women in this way.”
The Johanna Konta Edit will be available from the 24th June in stores nationwide, with further styles dropping throughout July, August and
September. The collection ranges in price from £89-£239.
