Ever since Dr. Martens were first hauled from their industrial roots and thrust into the realm of subcultures, they have symbolised rebellion and defiance. Decked out with studs and attention-grabbing contrast details, this new AW19 collection reflects that alternative DNA.
The iconic 8-eye boot returns in black vintage leather, treated with a worn-in process to give it a beaten look. Gunmetal square studded trims and printed piping bring some edge to this 1460, while the iconic heel-loop and yellow welt stitch enforce the Docs DNA.
DM have also infused other Icons with the same DIY alternative spirit. The 1490 Joska and1461 Zambello capture the very essence of customisation with an abundance of straps, buckles and square pyramid studs. The soft, rolled black leather and smooth white leather appear across these DMs, offering a dramatic, attention-grabbing contrast, while signature yellow welt stitch and scripted black heel-loop cement the Docs DNA.
The addition of a backpack enhances the collection: crafted from DM’s Vintage Smooth and Kiev leathers and featuring leopard hair-on panel, gunmetal hardware and studs. There is also a sock pattern available, with a 2D interpretation or the pyramid studs to complete the pack.
